offerings
Our sessions together will look somewhat like a traditional yoga class. On your mat, I will invite you to explore moving though a yoga sequence as I watch and give you guidance and sugggestions about how to move your body to find the ease in each pose. I will demonstrate with my own body if needed, but I will primarily verbally guide you so that you can find the pose in your own body. The poses and sequence of poses are customized to you- we may work through many poses or just a few, depending on what your goals are or what your body needs that day. Along the way, I will offer suggestions that are based in anatomy to ensure you are moving safely. The timing of each pose is customized to you; it's important to take time to explore what each pose brings. Because I believe that you are the expert in your own body, I serve as your guide and container through the session, allowing you to explore and move with direction and suggestion from me.

faq
I work with non able-bodied people with movement challenges, people living in bigger bodies, people wanting to explore their relationship with their body within the context of an eating disorder or other body dysmorphia, people in aging bodies, and people who don't feel like traditional yoga is for them. I teach anyone who has felt out of place or excluded from traditional yoga and anyone who is looking to add more body connection and movement to their personal exercise practice.
I teach an individualized blend of yin yoga and hatha yoga geared toward helping you learn where your body feels best in each pose. My teaching is anatomically informed and I cue verbally—during our sessions I will be guiding you in how to move your body, adapting our pose sequence to incorporate what works for your body and flexibility.
Since our sessions are virtual, you'll need a device that can access a video call, a quiet space in your home to practice, and a yoga mat. Props may be needed depending on your practice goals—you can supply them as you're able or we can work with what you have.
I am located in the DC metro area but I serve clients all over the United States.
